Mark Stokes has been a professional golfer since 1986. He played
on the European Tour in 1990 and 1995. In 1990, he won the PGA Trainee
of the Year Award.
As an amateur, Stokesy was Captain of Essex Boys, Colts and Senior
Teams, and won the East Anglian Open in 1984 and 1986. He has won
the Essex Open, the Essex Foursomes, North of England Youths, Essex
Amateur, and the Tate Trophy.
Since turning Pro, he has combined his teaching programmes with
a busy competitive playing schedule. He has trained under David
Leadbetter and Dennis Pugh and worked with Bill Longmuir in the
design and construction of a new golf course in Muscat, Oman for
Prince Kais Bin Tarik Al Said. Stokesy is to be the Captain of
the Essex PGA in 2006, and is Vice Captain for 2005. Stokesy also
coaches the Essex County senior team.
Stokesy
is Head Teaching Professional at the Brentwood Golf Centre (formerly
Hartswood Golf Club), where he provides individual
tuition, group lessons, regular academies for Juniors and Ladies,
as well as providing golf instruction at Corporate Golf Days. He
also offers tuition at the Rayleigh Golf Range CentreGolf Teaching
Academy.
